We had "Christmas" so many different times with different friends and families that the first morning there weren't presents to open Brooke was saying "Presents?" with her hands in the air as to say where are they today? It was nice this year to first of all be home and NOT in the hospital with Brooke! Secondly it was nice to be able to get out and be with family. Its also nice to have the MAGIC of Christmas back in the house...Lexi hasn't believed in a couple of years so to have talk of Santa watching and seeing their faces when Santa actually did walk through the door was a great feeling! Even though Giovanni is BY FAR our shyest of the five he was the most willing to talk to Santa. My favorite story from the visit though was when they were asked if anyone wanted to sit on Santa's lap Giovanni instantly pointed to his brother and said "Leighton!". It was so funny to listen to him volunteer his brother to be first! While no one was willing to sit with Santa-except Lexi- they were all VERY willing to run over and grab their candy cane from him!

We've had to adjust naptime a little later so to ease into we watched Frozen this afternoon before nap. Three were having snack siting on diaper boxes watching and the others were cuddled up with dad:). We met the Hartze family through having the babies--Tina has volunteered her entire Wednesday at our house since the babies have been born! She, like the rest of her family, is a very selfless, helpful, caring person that we have grown to consider family. Jacob had something going on at school one evening that he had to be at so Lexi and I decided to take everyone to Amy's. Since she has a full size tree we were hoping to get some Christmas pajama pictures with milk and cookies but as you will see that didn't go quite as planned! We got a few good pictures here and there but there were far too many new and exciting things to play with at her house! Its not often that I make it home but I was able to sneak away for the day to get to one of the Christmases back home. Lexi and I drove home Saturday afternoon and back Saturday night. It was a long day with a lot of driving but totally worth getting to see my family. We recently lost my grandma so it was a hard holiday but I'm thankful to have gotten to celebrate not only Christmas but also my grandpa's 93rd birthday! No matter how much time passes or the distance in miles between us when I go home its like I never left-I miss these guys so much! We are really into babies right now! Whatever we do our babies have to do... This morning Jade and her baby both had waffles for breakfast. Katie took on the challenge of making Christmas cookies with everyone today! Can't wait to get home and see how they turned out. |
