August 28, 2012: 24 weeks
Luckily there haven't been any changes since our last appointment!! My cervix is still long and has not started to dilate. The babies' heartbeats all checked out to be within normal range as well. It was amaing to see how much they had all grown just since last week! It wasn't the full ultrasound where they took measurements--just heartbeats--but it was hard to tell one baby from another. They are definitely crammed in there!! My favorite picutre is below that shows all three of the girls with thier heads together--scary thought what they could be scheming! Of course the only 3-D pictures we were able to get were of Giovanni. We are really going to have to make up for lost time and get lots of pictures of Leighton once he is born!
Today they also informed me that they were holding a meeting at the hospital to prepare for the birthday of these five. They were making sure they would have all the necessary doctors, nurses, and equipment on hand and ready at all times in case something out of the ordinary were to happen. They will be holding these meetings each week now as the needs will change as the babies continue to develop. Knowing this made me feel so secure and reassured that I am in the best place possible! Besides hating bed rest there is not a single complaint that I have about any doctor or nurse here. I feel like they are very professional, concerned, and invested in making this delivery as successful as possible!
