September 18, 2012: 27 weeks
Today Dr. Shah called my cervix the Hoover Dam! haha...It hasn't budged since last week. As grateful as I am for that news there is part of me that is ready to get the show on the road already! Once I hit the 28 week mark I'll really start getting anxious for something to happen. Ultimately our goal is still 30 weeks simply for the health of the babies--I just have to remind myself to be strong for them.
The babies are starting to change in position a little bit as well. Giovanni (A) is still at the bottom by himself however he is sitting really low now which makes it hard to believe for doctors and myself that my cervix is doing as well as it is. Brooklynn (B) has started to lower herself as well. When I am lying on my back she is located right next to my left hip bone above Giovanni. That should give you a good idea of how low they are sitting! Jade (C) is more towards the direct center of my belly now with Kensley (D) still off to my left side-both located high on my belly by my rib cage. Leighton (E) is completely behind everyone now still lying with his head on my right side of my belly near my right hip bone and stretched out so that his legs are on the left side of my belly.
The non-stress test they preformed today was in order to see if the babies heartrates were flucuating regularly. They look for the heart rate to rise 10 beats above average 10 times while they are being monitored. All babies did really well during the test. I wish I would have had a camera to take a picture of the craziness of this test. We had two nurses and the ultrasound technician from Dr. Shah's office all working together to find the babies and place the monitors in the correct locations. I had to change rooms as well in order to have enough room for the ultrasound machine as well as the machines that monitor the babies during the test.
We will know the weights of the babies at our next appointment on Tuesday--I'm anxious to see their growth!!
