It was decided that Brooke likely has asthma...and although it's nothing to be taken lightly it's a relief to know what is wrong.
At discharge we were given a detailed plan on how to handle another attack should Brooke have one. We have an order for steroids to fill as soon as we notice the labored breathing. We also have an inhaler for emergencies as well as the nebulizer for maintenance. It's possible Brooke could grow out of it but until then and especially during cold season we have to keep a close eye on Brooke and the things that could trigger another attack.
