we left for South Carolina just before the lumber arrived at our new "house" or as Vanni calls it our hole! Haha....thankfully John and Nancy has been keeping us posted with updates and pictures!
Home should be an anchor, a port in a storm, a refuge, a happy place in which to dwell, a place where we are loved and where we can love. -Marvin J. Ashton
There are lots of words that could be used to describe our two day trip to Put in Bay. Words like exhausting, stressful, fun, eventful but if I had to choose just one word it would definitely be worthwhile. It was the first time we had stayed overnight somewhere with the kids since they have been babies. Thankfully Katie came along to help us out. We spent all day Sunday swimming, playing putt putt, exploring the butterfly house, playing at the playground, and riding the golf cart. Riding around in the golf cart was probably the biggest hit out of anything we did! Sunday night Katie, Lexi, and Ari stayed back at the Villa to give the kids baths and get them to bed while we went out. It was great to have the day to spend with the kids and then be able to spend some time with friends in the evening. All in all it was a lot of fun and time well spent! time lapse video of Katie doing baths! Haha
It was hard going all week not having Ashley right across the hall from me so we got the kids together today to play. We were able to have about as long of conversation as we were able to in our classroom so it felt like old times! Haha.
Sweet Frog was the perfect way to end a very busy day filled with Amazone, swimming, a doctor's appointment, and Kid City! I wasn't sure I was going to make it through the evening since Jacob was at graduation but after Amy forced me to take a nap for an hour I got my second wind and made it:).
Leighton's check-up was perfectly normal-healing great and the swelling is really starting to go down finally. |
