We thought this day would never come!! For the last week or so the babies have all been sleeping through the night. Occassionally Jade will wake up around 4:30 and need to take a few ounces but for the most part they sleep!! I know what everyone is wondering...what do you consider sleeping through the night;)...let me give you the rundown of a typical day! ( I hope to get a video of our nightly routine soon!)
8:20 PM We start "Tops and Tails" ...they get their tops and bottoms cleaned or a full bath depending on what night it is. Routine is usually me wiping them down and getting them dressed in their sleepers then handing them off to someone else to feed. 9:30 PM All babies are usually fed by now and are getting swaddled and taken upstairs. They go down in their crib awake with the white noise playing and usually don't require being settled at all. They are all really good about putting themselves to sleep! This is usually the only time Jacob and I have to ourselves so we typically get things cleaned up, make bottles, and get ready for the next day once the babies are down. We usually make it to bed ourselves around 11:00 PM. 4:30 - 6:30 AM Typically Jade wakes up at least once during this time frame. Sometimes she won't go back to sleep without taking a couple ounces of a bottle but sometimes she will. 6:30-7:00 AM Jacob and I see how many times we can hit the snooze button :) 7:00 AM at the latest Jacob and I are both up getting ready for the day. I like to be dressed and ready for work before the babies get up--much easier that way! Jacob has to leave by 7:20 at the latest in order to get to work in time (7:40). 8:00-8:30 AM Babies start waking up ...volunteers starting coming in around 8:30 AM as well to help me and my mom get them dressed and fed. The babies are so happy and hungry in the morning it makes for a quick feed! 9:00 - 9:30 AM First feed of the day is usually finished. The babies like to stay awake for a while after this feed and "play". The boys usually convince someone to cuddle them to sleep too;) 11:00 AM I leave the house for work and the second round of volunteers start showing up. 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Jacob and I are at work and things at home are run by my mom and local volunteers. I can't explain to you how grateful I am at the generosity of the people who i used to consider complete strangers. If it wasn't for them --and my mom of course :) -- it wouldn't be possible for me to go back to work! 4:00 - 8:00 PM Jacob, my mom, myself, and occassionally some volunteers, get some "down" time (haha...i laugh calling it down time because it isn't down time at all but you know what i mean!) We eat supper, get a workout in, play with the babies, watch some TV, get Lexi's homework done, etc... before it all starts all over again!
