One more week down!! It feels good to make it to a new milestone-makes me feel like I have accomplished something since I have been here.
The issue with my sciatic nerve has calmed down slightly over the past two days. I'm hoping they continue to stay off of it but that's doubtful with how big they are getting. I have an appointment with Dr. Shah later this afternoon so be sure to check appointment updates later to get the latest and greatest! Lexi has been adjusting really well to her new school and I couldn't be more proud of how responsible she is in the mornings getting herself on the bus. She has really stepped up! Thanks to Mr. Davis for being a familiar face there for her too-I hear about her morning wave to you almost everyday;) Jacob has been keeping himself busy as well with school and the athletic director position! It has been a lot of work for him but he seems to really enjoy doing it. Somehow between all of that he manages to bring me food and clean laundry several times a week! I'm really lucky to have such a great family in him and Lexi that I don't have to worry about what is going on back home.

Last night I started having really intense, sharp back pain that shot down my thigh whenever the babies would move. This of course made me very nervous about what was going on. I didn't think it was what I remembered contraction pain to feel like nor was my belly hard (a sign of contractions) while it was happening. After talking to the nurse I truly feel that the babies are just getting significantly bigger and its becoming more painful to tolerate as they share space with everything else in there. From the description of my pain they are thinking it could be the sciatic nerve. I will be anxious to see what the doctor has to say today when I see him. Unfortunately if that is the problem the only choice I have for treating it is some tylenol and dealing with it. I knew things were going too smoothly and comfortably! Haha...this might be where the physically hard part begins!
I had my first set of steroid shots yesterday and let me tell you...not an enjoyable experience!! I have to have the second round later this afternoon and it's all I can think about. It was so painful!!
I can already hear myself asking the kids when they get older the cliche mom question: "do you guys have any idea what I went through to bring you into this world???" Haha. Lexi is coming to spend the night tonight so I'm looking forward to getting to spend some time with her-something I know we both miss! She makes me laugh when she raves over how comfortable my bed is! Today Jacob will be able to stay for a while too since it's the weekend. Days when I can have them here help get me through the week when our visits are short and limited. Thank you to Jeanine, Cory and Amy for visiting yesterday with sweets:)! It was great to see you all! |
